Advanced NMR Methods
Topics:
- Introduction to pulsed field gradients.
- Acquisition of 1D, 2D and 3D gradient experiments.
- Techniques for gradient water suppression.
- Different methods for shimming.
- Introduction to shaped pulses.
- Set-up and processing of the diffusion experiment DOSY.
Remarks:
This course is an introduction to the use of pulsed field gradients and shaped pulses on the Avance spectrometer. 1D experiments for selective excitation, 2D homo- and heteronuclear experiments with gradient selection and 3D experiments like 3D-HSQC-TOCSY are set up in the practical sessions. Different shimming options, particularly the gradient method TopShim and different techniques for solvent suppression with presaturation or gradients are shown. The implementation of shaped pulses for excitation, inversion and decoupling is shown, including the use of adiabatic pulses.
Prerequisite Qualification:
For experienced operators of AVANCE spectrometers.
