SuperL-FT
Commercial Pulsed EPR at L-Band (ca. 1 GHz)
The Bruker IF concept not only allows to up convert to higher frequency but also to down convert to a lower operating frequency. This is realized for the first time with the CW/FT microwave bridge SuperL-FT. Combined with a local oscillator at 8.5 GHz all features of the X-Band CW/FT microwave bridge are transferred to an L-Band operating range of 0.8 – 1.4 GHz. This is an exceptionally large frequency span achieved with an excellent spectral purity due to the IF concept.
This microwave bridge is another cornerstone in multi-frequency spectroscopy and opens in addition the way to Pulse-EPR imaging of small animals in the fields of biomedical research. The first data were obtained in CW- and FT-EPR on an irradiated quartz sample. With a 200 W TWT amplifier in combination with the L-band Flexline probe a 2-pulse echo was excited to record the FT spectrum of this sample.
