PharmaScan

MRI System for Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotechnology

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of laboratory animals has been established in a multitude of biological and pharmacological applications and already has become the accepted gold standard in several of them. The range of applications has expanded dramatically over the past few years via the introduction of more and more functional methods. MRI is showing benefits in the growing field of transgenic animal investigations since it is perfectly suited for providing a comprehensive description of the changes induced at the organ or animal level.

PharmaScan system

To meet these requirements BRUKER developed the PharmaScan, a high-field, easy-to-use and at the same time easy-to-install and very costeffective MR-system. It is designed for MRI applications on small animals such as mice and rats in the field of routine pharmaceutical and biomedical research. With the integrated semi-automatic image acquisition and analysis, fast and reliable results can be obtained by simple operation of the system by non-academic personnel, without compromising full flexibility for the MR expert.
