Embryonic Stem Cells Migrate Towards an Infarct Region
These data were acquired using a BioSpec® 70/30.
In vivo monitoring of stem cells after grafting is essential for a better understanding of their migrational dynamics and differentiation processes and of their regeneration potential.
With high resolution MRI one can observe the cell migration under in vivo conditions, allowing the monitoring of the cell dynamics within individual animals, and for a prolonged time.

- ES cells were lipofected with USPIO's, implanted into a rat brain and their fate tracked with high-resolution MRI. 2D - Migration of ES towards infarct region (top), 3D - Migration of cells / cerebral ischemia (middle), Resolution of 78 µm (buttom)
