Imaging Probes and Gradient Systems Overview
For medical, biological and material sciences research, Avance imaging systems provide optimal object handling and performance with a variety of samples types.
Two classes of imaging probes are available: in vivo probes for handling and sustaining live objects such as animals and plants, and conventional imaging probes for materials samples.
Standard Bore
The micro-imaging probe Micro 5 has been developed for applications with standard bore magnets (52 mm ID) for the investigation of small objects with diameters of < 1 mm to max. 10 mm.

Wide Bore
The Micro 2.5 probe has been developed for micro-imaging of small objects (max. diam. 30 mm) in wide bore magnets (89 mm ID).

MicroMouse 2.5 and Micro 2.5 AHS/RF Probes
In these variants of the Micro 2.5 system, the probe base and resonators have been modified to allow the use of high gradient strengths for in vivo investigations on small animals, e.g., mice up to 30 g.

The Mini 0.5 and Mini 0.5 AHS/RF Probes
The Mini 0.5 probe types have been developed for micro-imaging of larger objects or small animals (max. diam. 38 mm) in wide bore magnets (89 mm ID).

Super Wide Bore
The Mini 0.36 and Mini 0.36 AHS/RF Probes
Vertical super wide bore magnets with bore diameters of 154 mm and field strengths up to 9.4 T have been used for imaging studies for some time. Now, even higher field strengths of up to 11.7 T have become available for investigations of large objects.
