Self-gated cardiac MRI
IntraGate™
An increasing number of preclinical MR imaging applications are demanding excellent cardiac images and movies. With IntraGate™, independent cardiac, respiration and cardiac plus respiration movies can be readily acquired.
Self-gating with IntraGate provides a steady state condition which avoids the flashing effects common in conventional ECG triggering and respiratory gating. Since cardiac and respiratory cycles are detected by a navigator signal, no triggering hardware is required. IntraGate MRI is available for BioSpec, PharmaScan and mirco-imaging systems.
Features
- No triggering devices necessary
- Cardiac movies with full coverage of R-R-interval even in arrhythmia
- Respiration movies with full coverage of respiration cycle
- Combined cardiac and respiration movies
- Multi-slice data sets can be acquired in less than 5 minutes
- Reconstruction of synchronized multi-slice CINE frames
- Time courses for observation of non-cyclic motion like peristalsis
- Steady state acquisition
Cardiac Movie
Technology
IntraGate records the slice refocusing signal for the retrospective determination of the respiration and cardiac cycles. The refocused slice signals provide information for the retrospective reconstruction of high quality cardiac and respiration cine images even if there are strong variations within the respiration and/or cardiac rates.
