HyStar Software Upgrades & Licenses
Upgrades
To upgrade an LC-NMR system using HyStar 2.x/3.0/3.1 to HyStar 3.2:
- Check that the HPLC and LC-NMR instruments are compatible with HyStar 3.2.
- Order an LC-NMR HyStar software upgrade from Bruker BioSpin.
To upgrade an LC-NMR system using HyStar 2.x/3.0/3.1 to HyStar 3.2 when an MS spectrometer is included:
- Check that your MS spectrometer is compatible with Compass 1.2.
- Check that the HPLC and LC-NMR instruments are compatible with HyStar 3.2.
- Order an LC-MS software upgrade for Compass 1.0 from Bruker Daltonics.
- Order an LC-NMR HyStar software upgrade from Bruker BioSpin.
Hardware Compatibility:
- HyStar 3.2 requires a Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP operating system. Before you upgrade, verify that the control unit fulfills this requirement.
- The following instruments that were supported by HyStar 2.3 to 3.1 continue to be supported by HyStar 3.2: Agilent 1100, Waters Alliance®, all Bruker interfaces. For other instruments please check with Bruker.
- Standard Agilent 1200 instruments are fully compatible.
Licenses
The current release of HyStar is HyStar 3.2. At a minimum, a Basic HyStar License is required. Depending on the type of instrumentation used, additional HyStar licenses may also be required as indicated below. Note that only the basic HyStar license is version dependant. Additional licenses from versions 2.x, 3.0 or 3.1 are also valid for HyStar 3.2.
The HyStar Extended License:
- Provides control of Diode array detectors.
- Enables acquisition of up to 8 chromatograms calculated from UV spectra.
- Enables acquisition of 2D plots UV-spectrum against retention time.
The HyStar MS License:
- Enables integration of an MS spectrometer with a Bruker NMR-MS Interface (BNMI) in an LC-NMR setup.
- The LC-MS license from Bruker Daltonics is required for communication with esquire control software.
The HyStar CapLC License:
- Provides control of the Waters CapLC system for capillary chromatography separations.
- Enables control of the special valve for stop-flow NMR measurements.
The HyStar SPE License:
- Enables control of the Bruker/Spark Prospekt II system for LC-SPE operation.
The HyStar PP License:
- Required for use of the processing program HyStar PP - one license is included in the HyStar basic license.
- Separate HyStar PP licenses are only required for installation on computers which don't have the acquisition program with the HyStar basic license.
Ethernet Communication
All Agilent 1100 and 1200 instruments are supported via a LAN connection. Systems which have the Agilent instruments connected with RS232 must be upgraded. You must ensure that an Agilent 1100/1200 LAN interface and an Ethernet switch are present.
