Pulse ELDOR and DEER

Electron-Electron Double Resonance (ELDOR) and Double Electron-Electron Resonance (DEER) are acronyms for the same technique. With this technique the dipolar interaction between electron spins is measured. This information directly translates into the distance between the electron spins. Distance ranges of 10 to 80 Angstrom are covered. In recent years the combination of site directed spin labeling and DEER became one of the most popular tools in structural protein research.

The E 580-400 Pulse-ELDOR accessory is available for L-, S-, X-, Q- and W-Band.

DEER time domain signal. The oscillation directly gives the dipolar coupling constant and thus the distance.
