263 GHz Solids DNP spectrometer

  • 25 W 263 GHz gyrotron tube
  • 9.7 T gyrotron magnet with superconducting gun coil
  • Control system hardware and software, power supplies and cooling networks
  • 263 GHz microwave transmission line from gyrotron to NMR sample
  • Low temperature MAS probe with built-in waveguide and cold gas supply

These components are assembled with a standard 400 MHz WB solids spectrometer.

LT MAS Probe

  • Low sample temperature (~ 100 K)
  • Cold sample coil and RF circuit
  • 3.2 mm MAS rotor (17 kHz max at 100 K) 
  • WB triple resonance probe (H/C/N)
  • Insert/eject of cold samples
  • Dry low-temperature nitrogen gas supply
  • 3 lines:  bearing, drive and VT
  • Automatic refill of liquid nitrogen supply
  • Waveguide for microwave irradiation
  • Long term operation (days, weeks)

Gyrotron

  • Microwave frequency 263 GHz
  • Frequency stability ± 10 ppm
  • Microwave output power 1- 50 W
  • Operation modes 10 days or longer
