Magnet Systems

Enhanced Product Safetey

Magnet design and production also comply with the EN safety norms and the CE requirements.

Safety valves, quench valves and filling ports for cryogenic liquids as well as drop-off plates, burst disks and pump-out port fixtures are dimensioned for enhanced safety.

The cryostat's outer shell and the liquid helium and nitrogen tanks have been designed using the finite elements method with the aim of detecting and correcting possible weak spots, while providing resistance to overpressure, as well as avoiding dangerous deformations in critical situations.

Additional highlights: Increased protection of materials against corrosion; extensive testing used during production; improved mechanical stability of the magnet, and overall protection provided by the crates used for transportation.

Self-explanatory pictograms for warning signs have been designed and are available upon request.

Magnet user manuals are available in English, French, German (and other languages upon request). Also available (upon request) is a Site Planning Manual which includes specific information concerning precautions to be taken in the layout of the spectrometer room, and its relationship to the environment, which reduce the chance of dangerous situations from arising.

Safety Criteria and ISO 9001

Safety criteria for conformity to the CE directives and norms have now become an integral element of Bruker's production and testing procedures as part of our internal quality management system with ISO 9001 certification. This ensures that, in conformity with the CE label, the high standards of safety of our NMR spectrometers and magnets will be maintained and consolidated in the future.
