Description
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team to perform magnet mechanical, electrical and cryogenic installations and assembly, equipment maintenance and repair at customer sites as well as in-house magnet support and customer phone support.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to performing refrigerator exchanges, setting-up the spectrometer (electronics), shim and gradient system. Operating the cryo-power supply, energizing and shimming the magnet. MRI Magnet Specialist also performs installations and service on horizontal bore MRI magnet systems to ensure full functionality according to specifications and performs cryogen refills of superconducting magnets. Additional responsibilities include: reviewing performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspecting malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems; analyzing review and inspection findings to determine source of problems, and recommending repair, replacement, or other corrective action; coordinating problem resolutions with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
The position provides opportunities for extensive travel.
Qualification
The position requires Bachelor’s degree experience in Electro Mechanical systems, Vacuum pumps and Cryogenics. Good mechanical and electronic skills and demonstrated troubleshooting experience required. Strong written and oral skills and computer experience necessary. The ability to take the initiative and to work independently and the ability to operate various types of electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, DVM, sweep generator) required.
Must be willing and able to travel nationally on a regular basis and internationally occasionally. Must maintain current travel documents.
Ability to work in a team environment essential. Ability to frequently lift and/or move 50 lbs independently and over 100 lbs with assistance.
