- BioSpec 117/16 USR
Bruker BioSpin MRI has extended its well-proven BioSpec® series with an 11.7 T Ultra Shielded Refrigerated (USR) system. This is a new milestone in routine MRI because for the first time an actively shielded magnet is available with a horizontal MRI system at this high field strength.
Features
- Ultra high field of 11.7 T with unsurpassed signal-to-noise ratio
- USR magnets with two-year service intervals
- Helium zero-boil-off and Nitrogen free magnet technology
- 72 mm free access for imaging of rats and mice
- Integrated gradient and shim systems with the highest slew rates, gradient strengths and outstanding duty cycle performance with the BGA-S to overcome high field challenges
- Scalable Avance™ III architecture for multiple receiver and transmitter channel configuration
- Phased array coil technology for parallel imaging
- IntraGate for self-gated cardiac imaging without external triggering devices
- AutoPacTM - Motorized and software controlled animal positioning system
- Routine user interface ParaVision with state-of-the-art MR animal imaging techniques
High Resolution Neuroanatomy
The BioSpec 117/16 USR system enables highly resolved routine imaging of the rat brain leading to outstanding image quality. The signal-to-noise ratio obtained at this field strength allows one to acquire high resolution images of the very tiny in the brain!
Diffusion Tensor Imaging
Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) benefits tremendously from the high signal-to-noise ratio that is achieved by the 11.7 T. Images taken in 14 minutes using a EPI-SE sequence: The color coded Eigenvalue image displays the main principle diffusion directions after evaluating 30 different diffusion directions. Diffusion encoding: red: left-right; green: topbottom; blue: in-out.
